Jaguar XK - New Member of jaguar family

Jaguar XK 2009 letest

The 2009 Jaguar XK ranks 2 out of 7 Super Luxury Sports Cars. This ranking is based on our analysis of 63 published reviews and test drives of the Jaguar XK, and our analysis of reliability and safety data.

The Jaguar XK prioritizes comfort over sports performance. Though it doesn't run neck-and-neck with competitors on the track, it outshines many in terms of luxury and refinement.

Side View

Largely a carryover from the 2008 model year, the 2009 Jaguar XK offers a pleasant combination of sporty performance and high-class refinement. "The 2009 Jaguar XK takes a balanced approach to luxury and performance, and the results are impressive," writes Edmunds. "Although it's certainly not perfect, luxury-coupe and convertible shoppers will want to give it serious consideration." Despite its well-mated powertrain and technologically advanced features, reviewers find that its drawbacks include a cramped

backseat and an exterior design that stops short of making hearts pound.

The XK is available in two body styles, coupe and convertible. A high-performance XKR model is also available.

* "An enticing blend of grown-up performance and sporty luxury makes XK worth considering." -- Consumer Guide
* "If you're looking to shake things up, the polished XK probably won't punch your buttons, and if you're looking for the most performance car for the money, I'd suggest sticking with the

Runing previw

homegrown Corvette." -- Detroit News
* "Jaguar's all-new, aluminum-bodied XK plays in an elite field of expensive sporting cars that blend the oft-competing virtues of pavement-ripping performance and senses-coddling luxury. Some, like the Porsche 911 Carrera and Dodge Viper, are mostly about performance. Others, like the Mercedes-Benz CL500, BMW 650i and Cadillac XLR, slide toward the other end of the scale. The Jaguar XK is a nicely executed marriage of both. While its 300-horsepower V8 is not as brutally powerful as some, its lightweight aluminum construction keeps it well in the performance hunt." -- Kelley Blue Book

XK Performance - 8.8 (Very Good)

The XK may not be the fastest vehicle in its class, but test drivers still admire it for its smoother powertrain and comfortable, well composed nature. "There's very little to gripe about when it comes to the XK's road manners," writes the Detroit News. "For a sports car, it is powerful and very easy to drive, gets decent fuel economy and proved to be a wonderful companion on long trips." XK Exterior - 8.5 (Very Good)

Critics find the XK's exterior design pleasing, but not head-turning. Automobile Magazine writes, "On the way up from Phoenix, people haven't been pointing or staring at us in the way that says this car's a hit. We like the way it looks, we respect it, but we don't love it." Continue with our full XK Exterior Review to learn about the convertible's power retractable soft-top. continue
XK Interior - 8.0 (Very Good)
Auto writers find the XK's front seats comfortable, but have nothing positive to say about the rear. "Inside is a 2 + 2 setup that boasts moderate space for driver and front-seat passenger but offers space in the backseat for little more than the notion of practicality," writes Road & Travel Magazine.
